Africa-PressTanzania. REGIONAL Administration and Local Government Ministry has opened the window for application of at least 9, 675 jobs for teachers and health services cadres countrywide.

Speaking to journalists, the Minister of State, President’s Office, Regional Administration and Local government, Ms Ummy Mwalimu said the opening of job applications came after being granted permission by the President’s Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance.

Minister Ummy said out of the 9, 675 employment opportunities, a total of 2,726 are for health cadres, who will be dispatched in municipal and district council hospitals as well as health centres across the country.

She said the remaining 6,949 employment slots are for primary and secondary school teachers, who will also be dispatched to all corners of the country.

Ms Ummy said the window for job applications opened officially yesterday and the curtains will be closed on May 23, this year.

All applications should be done online through ajira.tamisemi. go.tz, said the minister, adding that recruitment will be made on merits.

“The entire recruitment process will be fair and transparent… it will strictly be on merit,” insisted Ms Ummy.

She cautioned applicants to be watchful with conmen, who have been going around promising unsuspecting job seekers a help to get placement.

“You should be vigilant and should not give a bribe in promise for jobs,” she said, adding that those who would face such a situation to inform her personally and other relevant authorities for proper measures to be taken against any civil servants who would be involved in such deals.

The minister said that the recruitment was meant to fill in the gaps within the two cadres, which arose due to various reasons including death and dismissal from public services.

However, she cautioned the applicants that they should bear in mind that when applying, they must be ready to work in the assigned duty stations and no transfer will be made.

“They (applicants) should be reminded that these employment opportunities are geared towards filling in the staff shortage in the councils that are facing the problem,” she said.

According to Minister Ummy, the eligible applicants are those who graduated in the teachers’ training colleges from 2012 to 2019.

For primary schools, the applicants with certificates (Level III-A) and diploma (Level III-B) needed are those with qualification in special needs education, physical education and early childhood education.

She said applicants to be graded in level III-C must possess a bachelor education degree, majoring in English Language, History and Geography subjects.

For secondary schools, Minister Ummy said applicants to be considered are those with diploma certificate, education degree holders and post graduate diploma in Education graduates, majoring in physics, mathematics, biology and chemistry.

Apart from the specific qualifications, Ms Ummy said other general requirements for the applicants must be a Tanzania below 45 years, must have national identification number, birth certificate and copies of the academic credentials among others.

In the health sector cadres, the posts that are up for grab are in the field of medicine from recognised universities.

An applicant must have done a one year internship and have been registered by the Medical Council of Tanganyika as medical doctors and dentists.

She further said that diploma holders in clinical medicine, clinical assistant certificate, as well as holders of diploma in clinical dentistry and clinical assistants’ certificate can apply for their respective posts.

Other posts will be available for holders of pharmacist degree with one year internship and registered with Pharmacy Council, holders of diploma in pharmaceutical technology and certificate in pharmaceutical technology.

The opportunities also covers holders of diploma in health laboratory sciences and certificate in health laboratory sciences, diploma in radiology/radiography, undergraduates in nursing, diploma in nursing and midwifery as well as certificate in nursing and midwifery.

Others are physiotherapists, bachelor degree in environmental health science and advanced diploma in either in social work, sociology, psychology, social protection, guidance and counseling, theology, divinity, child protection, social policy, any childhood development and social gelontology.

Nutrition, home economics and nutrition, food science and technology, food science diploma holders also have slots in the employment opportunities packages.
