IFC unveils package to boost Tanzania-Comoros business ties

Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, has highlighted various opportunities for loans and professional financial advisory services for Tanzanian entrepreneurs and investors interested in doing business in Comoros.

This was revealed by IFC’s representative based in Maputo, Mozambique, Ms. Mehita Fanny, during her visit to the Tanzanian Embassy in Comoros. In her discussions with Tanzania’s Ambassador to Comoros, H.E. Saidi Yakubu, Ms. Mehita noted that IFC recognizes significant economic potential for Tanzanian businesses in Comoros, particularly in key priority sectors.

According to Mehita, IFC is ready to provide loans and technical support for viable investment projects, especially in the sectors of construction and housing, tourism, energy, and environment.

On his part, Ambassador Yakubu welcomed IFC’s interest and stated that the trade volume between Tanzania and Comoros currently stands at approximately 400m/-n per day and continues to grow. He added that the Tanzanian Embassy in Comoros has been organizing various business forums aimed at bringing together entrepreneurs from both countries to explore and enhance economic cooperation.

Through this collaboration, Tanzanians looking to expand their businesses or invest abroad are encouraged to closely explore the opportunities available in Comoros with the support of the IFC.
