Africa-Press – Tanzania. LEGAL experts, political analysts and citizens have expressed high anticipation for the forthcoming report of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry, noting that it is expected to provide comprehensive and credible findings based on a legally conducted investigation.

Speaking to the Daily News yesterday, analysts said the report would promote peace, unity, national cohesion and patriotism, while contributing to national healing.

They described it as a starting point for reforms that citizens have long been calling for.

Swaibu Ahmadi, a legal and social development analyst from a Dar es Salaam law firm, said the commission’s report would foster national healing by addressing grievances and demonstrating that no one is above the law.

He added that the report would reflect the government’s willingness to examine itself and undertake self correction rather than ignore problems.

“There are expectations for an impartial and independent report that will sustain peace and patriotism, focusing on systemic weaknesses rather than blaming individuals,” Mr Ahmadi said.

“It will identify where the nation went wrong and suggest ways to improve institutions.”

According to Mr Ahmadi, the report will also strengthen patriotism by reassuring citizens that their constitutional rights are protected and that the country has a clear path for maintaining peace and unity, even during crises.

He explained that the commission, a constitutional body, is composed of professionals who are not politically aligned but guided by legal principles.

He urged the public to expect recommendations for systemic reforms rather than personal blame, stressing that the commission is the beginning of accountability, not the end.

“The report will pave the way for appropriate action, irrespective of political affiliation, ethnicity, or religion,” he said.

“The law empowers the President to direct the Director of Public Prosecutions to conduct further investigations, initiate prosecutions and order compensation for victims where necessary. This report will serve as a roadmap for justice.”

Dr Ahmadi Sovu, a social and political analyst and Senior Lecturer at the Mwalimu Nyerere Memorial Academy (MNMA), said the public is eagerly awaiting the report, describing it as the start of national healing and a new chapter for the country.

“The commission has had sufficient time to engage with various groups in society, which will help establish the truth, dispel rumours and counter misinformation,” he said.

Yonah Mapury, a political analyst from Mwanza, added that the report’s release would help heal emotional wounds and restore calm nationwide.

He noted that victims of the October 29th 2025 incidents would find reassurance in seeing justice being done.

Mr Mapury further said the report would shape a new national outlook by strengthening peace, unity and solidarity among Tanzanians.

He described it as a foundation for reconciliation, rebuilding trust and enhancing accountability and dialogue in society
