Zanzibar’s Second Vice-President Hemed Suleiman Abdulla has called on Nanguji residents to prioritize peace as a shared responsibility. Speaking after Friday prayers, he emphasized that peace is essential for development and must be preserved for future generations. Abdulla urged citizens to reject hatred and promote unity, while a local religious leader echoed these sentiments during the sermon.
Africa-Press – Tanzania. ZANZIBAR’S Second Vice-President Hemed Suleiman Abdulla has urged the residents of Nanguji to uphold peace as a shared responsibility, highlighting its crucial role as a cornerstone of development.
Speaking to worshippers after Friday Prayer at Al-Nassri Mosque at Nanguji, South Pemba, Mr Abdulla stressed that peace is a national duty that concerns every Zanzibari who cares about the country’s future.
He said the ongoing progress and development rely on preserving the existing peace and ensuring it is passed down to both current and future generations, so they too can enjoy the benefits of stability and tranquility.
The Second Vice-President called on citizens to shun hatred, selfishness and actions that undermine human dignity, reminding them that all Zanzibaris are brothers and sisters.

He further encouraged residents of Nanguji to continue educating one another on unity and solidarity, describing these values as the backbone of national progress.
Meanwhile, delivering the Friday sermon, Ustadh Ali Mohammed Ali urged Muslims to strengthen brotherhood, particularly during the sacred months, including Rajab, in order to earn God’s blessings.
He also called on worshippers to pray for the government and its leaders so that they may succeed in delivering development to the people.
