Africa-Press – Tanzania. AS water levels continue to rise for the bottom placed teams in the Premier League, the final matches to be played tomorrow will be a good judge to see which sides will either stay put or relegated prior to the next season.
Four teams which are Coastal Union, Mbeya City, Kagera Sugar and Ruvu Shooting boosted their chances of repelling relegation after registering wins in their crucial previous games played on Thursday but the battle is far from over.
Coastal Union breathed fire to demolish the relegated side Mwadui 5-0 at Mkwakwani Stadium in Tanga which was a good outcome for Juma Mgunda’s team as they moved to 13th place with 37 points in bag.
They simply need to win their last match against Kagera Sugar set tomorrow at their backyard Mkwakwani Stadium in order to cement their chances of remaining in the contest next term.
Also, Mbeya City defeated Gwambina 1-0 at Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya to climb up to 12th place with 39 points hence another win against Biashara United at their venue tomorrow will be a glittering light for them.
On the other hand, Kagera Sugar stunned Polisi Tanzania 1-0 at Ushirika Stadium in Moshi to jump to 11th place with 40 points in the bag hence their final duel against Coastal Union will be a thriller.
Again, Ruvu Shooting dismantled Namungo 2-1 at their Mabatini Stadium to climb up the ladders to 10th slot after gathering 41 points and they can move further if they manage to silence Azam at the same venue tomorrow in their last fixture of the season.
However, losses stamped by Ihefu, JKT Tanzania and Gwambina were salt on fresh wound for them since it seems too late for them to dodge the relegation door facing them.
Ihefu were outclassed 2-0 by Young Africans at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in the city which was a very important game for them to win and rekindle their hopes of staying put in the top flight league.
The Mbarali based outfits are now 16th on the table with 35 points and have remained in the city ahead of their final match versus KMC at Uhuru Stadium tomorrow.
Gwambina who are 17th on the log with 34 points and lost 1-0 to Mbeya City in their recent game are set to play Tanzania Prisons at Nelson Mandela Stadium in Sumbawanga.
For JKT Tanzania who occupy 15th place with 36 points and lost 5-2 to KMC in their past encounter have a daunting task against Mtibwa Sugar tomorrow with each side looking for the win to propel their chances of reappearing in the league next term.
After the loss, JKT Tanzania coach Mohamed Bares admitted that they are at a tight angle as far as shrugging off Mainland Premier League relegation is concerned.
He however remained positive to do well in their final match while insisting that they are ready for any outcome this season.
