Africa-Press – Tanzania. The Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute (JKCI) has received three cardiologists from China who will provide specialized heart treatment services.
Speaking at the welcoming ceremony held on Monday, JKCI executive director Prof Mohamed Janabi said the Institute has been receiving cardiologists from China every two years who have mostly helped to provide cardiac services to patients and thus save lives.
“We have received three doctors who are specialists in the intensive care unit (ICU), pediatric cardiologist and cardiologist who will work with our specialists in providing medical care to patients,” said Prof Janabi.
Prof Janabi thanked the government through the Ministry of Health for sending cardiologists to provide services at the Institute and promised to work with them for the time they will be in the country.
“Our specialists will work together with fellow specialists, this will help them to exchange skills among them further improve the services we provide”, said Prof. Janabi.
On his part, the leader of the doctors, Anesthesia ICU Specialists Meng Yong, thanked the institute for the grand reception and promised to work together with JKCI specialists so that patients continue to receive quality medical care.
For the year 2022 China has deployed 11 specialist doctors who will provide specialized medical services to JKCI, Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH), Muhimbili Orthopedic Institute (MOI) and Mbeya Regional Referral Hospital.l.
