Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE District Commissioner of Kinondoni, Saad Mtambule, has commended President Samia Suluhu Hassan for her efforts to address the challenges faced by Tanzanian women and youths.
He highlighted that there are some huge improvements in various sectors, including health, education, infrastructure, and many more.
“For instance, thousands of classrooms have been built, health centers upgraded, and essential services expanded to rural areas. These actions have reduced the gap in service delivery between urban and rural communities,” he said
While addressing this, Mtambule applauded the President’s leadership style, noting that it emphasizes transparency, accountability, and listening to citizens’ concerns.
He acknowledged that these qualities have restored public trust in government and allowed for quicker responses to local challenges, especially in fast-growing districts like Kinondoni.
Speaking at a special event, Mtambule praised the Director of Women’s Journey (Safari ya Mwanamke) Foundation, Georgia Kamina, for organizing the event aimed at educating coming women leaders and who are in present positions.
“I commend the Safari ya Mwanamke Foundation for its role in promoting women’s rights and encouraging resilience among women and girls
Through seminars, mentorship programs, and community engagement, the foundation has become a vital platform for empowering Tanzanian women to pursue leadership roles and economic independence,” he said
He highlighted the positive impact of the government’s policies on social and economic development across the country.
The event brought together women leaders, youth, and community members to celebrate achievements and raise awareness about women’s empowerment and development.
Adding the government has also made great strides in supporting women and youth entrepreneurship through loans and training programs.
Under initiatives such as the National Economic Empowerment Council (NEEC) and local government funding for women, youth, and people with disabilities, many have been able to launch or grow their businesses. These efforts reflect a broader commitment to inclusive growth.
Georgia Kamina, the Director of the foundation, expressed gratitude for the support from government leaders and partners.
She stated that the foundation will continue to work closely with local authorities and communities to ensure that women across Tanzania are given equal opportunities and resources to thrive.
In conclusion, the night served not only as a celebration but also as a call to action. Both DC Mtambule and the Safari ya Mwanamke Foundation reaffirmed their commitment to working together to uplift communities, especially women, in alignment with the national development goals set by the Tanzanian government.
