Africa-Press – Tanzania. ISLES Premier League champions KMKM were forced to a 1-1 draw with Mlandege in a tough encounter held here at Amaan Stadium.
Mlandege scored first to score just two minutes after a start through Sabri Ramadhan China who netted the opener through a spotkick.
KMKM who are coached by Ame Msimu fought hard for the equaliser and it took them just four minutes to level the matters through Ventraus John Kamanya. KMKM are still leading the title race despite the draw.
They have now carved 13, three points superior to their closest challenger Malindi who are placed second with 10 points. Meanwhile, Women Fighter and Jumbi Queens fought to a 1-1 draw in the Mapinduzi Cup Women League match held here at Mao Zedong stadium on Christmas Day.
The match was graced by The Isles Minister for Information, Youth, Arts and Sports Tabia Maulid Mwita. Women Fighter were the first to open the goal account early in the 13th minute through Dawa Haji and Jumbi Queens equalised later in the second half.
The score remained 1-0 for Women Fighter despite many attempts from Jumbi Queens in a hunt of an equaliser. Jumbi Queens began the second half strongly by creating many raids and their efforts paid off in the 58th minute.
It was Mwajuma Seif Said who made it 1-1 with a clean finish. The tournament has drawn nine teams in the fight for the league’s top throne.
