Africa-Press – Tanzania. LETSHEGO Bank Tanzania is planning to digitise its operation in Africa through LetsGo service in near future.
The service will enable its customers in the country to benefit from the digital innovation by connecting them with other customers in Africa.
Letshego’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Andrew Tarimo, said yesterday that LetsGo solutions enable customers to achieve their aspirations, empowering a progressive generation of cultural change in the new normal.
“As we build on this further, Letshego customers across the breadth of Africa footprint will also have this digital power, indeed with growing and expanding capabilities to enjoy in the palms of their hands,” Mr Tarimo said.
The bank is committed to continue using the digital technology and inspiring innovation to extend the reach of inclusive financial services to more customers in the continent. Letshego’s Group Chief Executive Andrew Okai said that currently digitisation is no longer a revolution but part of everyday life.
“Having recently celebrated Africa Day, and as we navigate our way through a global pandemic, there is no better time than now for Letshego to be inspiring confidence in our unique strengths as a continent, encouraging collaboration to overcome our challenges,” Mr Okai said.
“Digital is no longer a revolution; digital is life,” he said. The Botswana based banking group recently launched its ‘LetsGo digital’ campaign through its digital financial technology platform. This, according to the company, is an enabler to deepen financial inclusion across Africa.
According to the Group, Letshego has chosen two budding markets, Nigeria and Botswana, as the first two countries in which the ‘LetsGodigital’ will be rolled out.
Through the LetsGo App, customers have access to simple financial beyond banking services on the go, to enhance their lifestyles.
He said “LetsGO solutions” enable customers to achieve their aspirations, empowering a progressive generation of cultural change in this new normal.
“With simple digital financial and beyond banking solutions that are tailored to support life goals and help improve the lives of our customers, bringing tangible spin-off benefits for our local communities,” Mr Okai said.
Initially the LetsGO platform – accessible via mobile phone and web will unlock digital access to account information, loans and top-ups for existing and new deduction at source customers in Botswana and Nigeria. He said the Group’s remaining 9 markets including Tanzania will enjoy the same digital platform benefits by the end of this year.
