Africa-Press – Tanzania. SOLAR Planet Company is in the process of setting up a solar energy batteries manufacturing plant in Dar es Salaam Region after experiencing concerns from customers who the use renewable energy technologies.
In an exclusive with Daily News, the company’s managing director, Mr Hamza Lema said the high-tech batteries will support economic activities including fishing along Lake Victoria.
He said the company is implementing the project, thanks to the government’s industrialization policy which has attracted investors in the country.
According to Mr Lema, currently Tanzania imports batteries, hence the majority can’t afford the price.
He added that most fishermen in Lake Victoria use conventional lights in their daily activities but Solar Planet Company has come up with modern technology D-2 lamps.
