Africa-Press – Tanzania. IT was the night of victory where Tanzanian boxers delivered a special package for Boxing Day to boxing fans who appeared at Next Door Arena in Dar es Salaam.
Tony Rashid, Abdallah Pazzy ‘Dulla Mbabe’, Seleman Kidunda, Mfaume Mfaume and Ismail Galiatano were among the few boxers who displayed an outstanding performance at the Arena and walked off the ring with pride.
On the other hand, Twaha ‘Kiduku’ fight against Guy TShimanga from Congo was postponed while waiting for the date to be rescheduled.
The promoter, Seleman Semunyo noted that the postponement has been due to Corona and so the boxer failed to arrive in the country. In the night of champions: Tony Rashid secured his African Boxing Union title after taking down his opponent Hassan Milanzi from Zimbabwe by TKO in the second round.
Deputy Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports Abdallah Ulega took the privilege to announce Tony Rashid and crowned him the title.
Another boxer whose bout grabbed fans attention was Dulla Mbabe; as he made his return to his best after beating the Malawian Simon Tcheta by KO in the first round.
It was Dulla’s big day where he showed quality and displayed superior ability, attacking his opponent with eloquence and skill; that took his opponent down before the break bell rang.
Dulla had not been on his form in the past few months, he lost a few bouts including against his homeboy challenger Twaha Kiduku last August where Twaha won by points at Uhuru Stadium.
Seleman Kidunda who is currently among the country’s prides defeated Limbani Lano from Malawi and collected his second title in one year.
He smashed his opponent by KO and was crowned the East and Central African champion.
