Africa-Press – Tanzania. COUNTRY’s successful women may have their stories popularized for inspiring other women to follow in their footsteps.
This comes in the wake of the launching of a special magazine called ‘Wanawake 2021’ which will be covering feature articles about successful women in Swahili language.
It will be exposing women who made have shined in, businesses, entrepreneurship, and other socio-economic activities.
The magazine is a brainchild of the Purpleplanet Company based in the city.
Speaking about the magazine, the company’s Managing Director Hilda Kisoka clarified that the magazine will be focusing on successful women’s stories in order to encourage other women and young girls to work hard and believe in themselves that they can also succeed in their endeavors.
She said: “Through this magazine we expect to reach out to thousands of women across the country, it will be published in both hard and soft copy and will be available for free.”
She said since 2017 she has been supporting women through different platforms, noting that her company has reached out to 5,000 women directly and more than 100,000 have indirectly benefited from the company.
For over 15 years Ms Hilda has been supporting the women, noting that among major challenges facing the group was lack of capital, access to land and denying them the inheritance of properties.
She said such challenges have affected women’ prospering in business and some have failed to move on.
Meanwhile, the Executive Director for National Economic Empowerment Council Beng’i Issa challenged women to effectively use such magazines to earn knowledge and learn experiences from successful women.
One of the beneficiaries of such magazines, Dr Judith Yombo, who deals with distributing weight-loss drugs, said for her getting her story published in the magazine enabled her business and products to be known across the country.
“Such publications are helpful for us because people get to know us better,” she said.
