Maintain safety measures to brighten Oryx Rally 2021

Africa-PressTanzania. Maintaining safety rules for drivers and spectators should be a top priority when Tanzanian drivers lock horns with Africa’s top drivers in the 2021 Oryx Rally at Ubena Estate next week.

We are delighted to have big names such as Duncan Mubiru, Jas Mangat, Carl Tundo, Karan Patel and South African Guy Botterill, because their presence and reputation in the wheeling business makes Oryx Rally of Tanzania a real continental class event.

We would like to advice the motor sports governing body to ensure it maintains safety rules as the coming event will be watched worldwide, and hence any issue that violates safety rules can ruin the race and the country’s safety reputation.

To make this rally better and highly competitive, we would like to advise the Automobile Association of Tanzania (AAT) to hold talks with sponsors and other stakeholders and find a good rewarding system that can attract more foreign drivers.

We believe the presence of a good package for the drivers and the winners can make the rally more competitive and very friendly to foreign drivers to come to Tanzania as we also use motorsports to promote tourism.

While we are very lucky to have 19 local drivers, we would be more than happy if our drivers can enter this event as competitors, hence they must not let the foreign drivers wholly dominate the winners’ podium.

We again insist as it is just a week before the event revs off on July 23rd by advising organizers and all crews engaged in this year’s Oryx Rally to ensure the event strictly observes safety of crews and spectators.

Because we know motor rally is one of the most entertaining outdoor sports, we suggest the organisers to be tough against drivers or spectators who violate safety rules in all sections of the twoday rally.

We end up wishing all Tanzanians a good weekend at Highland Estate, Ubena where drivers will show all their skills in the event that publicises our country.

We welcome everyone to come and enjoy the beautiful outings next Saturday and Sunday at Ubena, and anyone who goes there won’t regret doing so.
