Africa-Press – Tanzania. Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, Mr Amos Makalla has formed a special taskforce to probe early morning fire outbreak at the Karume Market in the city.
He said on Sunday, January 16, 2022 shortly after visiting the marketplace that: “the taskforce will be led by Ilala District Commissioner and it will work for 14 days to establish the details and bring light on the root cause of the accident.”
Makalla issued a restraining order to all traders to enter the premises on safety grounds.
It is reported that the inferno burned almost 90 percent of the market, despite intervention of the Fire and Rescue Service team fighting it.
