Africa-Press – Tanzania. HONEY production at Manyoni Bee Farm has increased from 4,992.6 kg in 2022/2023 to 14,665.7 kg in 2024/2025, while wax production has increased from 159.8 kg to 489 kg, an increase of almost three times in three years, the Farm’s Head of Conservation, Igunda John, has revealed today, February 13, 2026.
He said this during a presentation on the status of honey and wax production for three years (2022/2023–2024/2025) given as part of a training visit by experts from Zanzibar
Presenting the statistics, Igunda explained that these achievements are due to improvements in value chain management from the farm, harvesting, storage to the processing stage, as well as improved training for beekeepers in the district.
He said these achievements demonstrate the importance of education for the community and the effective management of bee resources.
“It is clear that TFS Manyoni has done a great job in educating the community about the benefits of following good beekeeping principles. Previously, many did not recognize the value of bee products, but now the response is great, and citizens have begun to benefit economically,” he said.
He urged experts to continue to increase their efforts in providing education, especially on how to identify the quality of honey and other bee products, to protect consumer health and promote the market for legal products
