Africa-Press – Tanzania. SIMBA and Young Africans have been pooled in separate groups as the organizers here announced the fixture of Mapinduzi Cup 2022 yesterday.
The fixture released yesterday shows that Azam have been placed in group A along Namungo, Yosso Boys and Melinne City.
Group B has drawn together the Isles Champions KMKM, Taifa Jang’ombe and Young Africans while Simba are in group C together with Selem View and Mlandege.
Namungo will be the first to test the tournament on January 2nd, 2022 in their opener against Melinne City at Amaan Stadium in Unguja. On January 3rd, 2022, Salem View will play Mlandege before KMKM facing Taifa Jangombe.
Simba will start their Mapinduzi Cup campaign on January 5th by facing Salem View at 4:00pm while at 8:00 pm Young Africans will open their title defending campaign against Taifa Jang’ombe.
The annual tournament which draws teams from Tanzania Mainland and the Isles, has this year invited 10 new teams. Yanga are the tournament’s defending champions.
