Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Tanzania boxing star Mfaume Said alias ‘Mfaume Mfaume’ claimed the World Boxing Federation (WBF) African Super Welter Title after defeating Egyptian boxer Abdelmonem Said by knockout.

The ten-round fight seemed easy for Mfaume after he finished his opponent in the second round with a knockout. The bout seemed one-sided as Mfaume dominated both rounds with heavy punches penetrating his opponent’s face that pushed him back.

Mfaume’s dominance over Said proved he was well prepared and stronger than his opponent. His performance gave superb entertainment to hundreds of his supporters who showed up at the Diamond Jubilee hall on Friday.

It was even more exciting after Mfaume supporters yelled with joy to witness Said on his knees at the corner of the ring for failing to withstand a series of punches that penetrated his guard.

More screams were heard as Said failed to recover for the fight as the referee counted 1-10 to see if he was fit to resume the fight.

It was even more exciting at the hall as the Mfaume’s fans burst with joy after the referee called the end of the fight in just two rounds. After his victory, Mfaume humbled and thanked God for the victory insisting it would not have been possible for him to win if he did not put God first.

He added, “I did not expect to complete the bout that early given that I had a good record opponent. This WBF victory is for the entire country, and I thank my fellow Tanzanians for showing such love to support me through your appearance at the hall and prayers.”

Mfaume has then recorded his eighth knockout victory since he began his boxing career eight years ago.

He has fought 28 bouts and won 17 fights, lost eight and drew twice. His opponent had the opportunity to comment on the fight, and he congratulated his opponent Mfaume for the victory but wishes to have a rematch with him.

“He is a good fighter and I congratulate him on his victory. I wish to have a rematch with him either in Tanzania or Egypt.”

It was not an easy bout as the opponent had a good record of winning whereas the Egyptian boxer before losing Friday’s bout had a record of winning 22 fights and losing two with one bout being decided by a draw. Apart from Mfaume, there were a few more fights and saw more Tanzanian boxing stars proudly hoisting the nation’s flag.

Among the Tanzanian boxers who won on Friday was Pius Mpenda who smashed Said Abdumonem by knockout. Hamisi Maya defeated Murdochee Katembo from Congo DR and
