Africa-PressTanzania. TANZANIA National Women football team’s road to Women’s Africa Cup of Nations finals in Morocco is set to begin with Namibia in the qualifier game after CAF reviewed the fixture.

This was revealed on Monday during the qualification series draw at CAF Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt where it involved 45 member associations taking part in it.

The only team that has automatically qualified in the tourney is Morocco; who is the host country of the final tournament. So the qualifier draw had hand-picked 44 teams.

According to CAF, the race begins next month where the first leg will be played from 7th to 15th and the second leg kicks off from 18th to 29th October of this year. These qualifier games will only be played in two rounds.

In which the aggregate winner between Twiga Stars and Namibia will meet with the winner between Malawi and Zambia. The aggregate winners will qualify to join the hosts Morocco in the final tournament; these finals will be under the format of 12 teams for the first time.

In the same event the Under 20 women’s national team is set to play with the winner between Djibouti and Eritrea in the second round of World Cup qualifiers.

The first leg will either be on September 23rd, 24th or 25th whilst the second leg will be on October 7th, 8th or 9th, this year. The FIFA U-20 finals World Cup will take action in Costa Rica next year.

As well as the women Under 17 squad are scheduled to play with Botswana in the second round of the World Cup qualifier. Where the first leg is set to take action on March 3rd, 4th or 5th and the second leg will be on 17th, 18th or 19th next year.

The FIFA U-17 finals World Cup will take action in Costa Rica next year.

The top 5 seeded teams according to the CAF ranking system were not included in the draw because they will play against the teams qualified from the 1st round: Cameroon, South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana and Morocco. The tourney finals are set to take action next year in India.
