Africa-Press – Tanzania. FOLLOWING a 2-0 victory over El Hilal El Obeid of Sudan in the CAF Confederation Cup, Namungo coach Hemedi Morocco disclosed that it was a fair result for them prior to the reverse encounter.
Namungo who hosted the Sudanese team on Wednesday at Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam have put themselves on a safe side ahead of the return leg scheduled between January 5th to 6th next year.
Two first half goals from Sixtus Sabilo and Steven Sey helped to put smiles on the faces of the home team as they strongly believe that they will manage to jump into the next round of the competition.
However, speaking after the game, convinced Morroco thanked God for the positive outcome while insisting that it was not a simple match at all.
“We approached the game cautiously knowing that our opponents are also a good team, that is why in the early minutes of the first half, my players played with big tension. “I think we deserved to win because we orchestrated more scoring chances than them, so, it was a fair game to our part,” the coach said.
Queried why he opted to start Bigirimana Blaise on the bench, Morocco replied that he has more competitive players in his squad and it was not only him who began the match on the bench.
“It was simply a tactical move. When he came in, he showed his potential about what he is capable to do, there was nothing exceptional on why he started as a substitute,” he said.
He added that they will thoroughly analyse the match to see where they went wrong and collect the mistakes before making the trip to Sudan for the second leg battle, as he believes that the next match will be much good.
Unfortunately, no representative from El Hilal Obeid side was willing to give his postmatch views of the first leg encounter after the entertaining match.
