Africa-Press – Tanzania. Airtel Tanzania has entered into a partnership with Tanzania Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA) where motorists can now pay their parking fee easily via Airtel Money.
This partnership is a continuation between Airtel and government agencies in using the modern online digital payment for various products and services by use of Airtel Money which is safe and convenient.
Speaking in Dar es Salaam over the weekend while announcing the new partnership with TARURA, the Director of Airtel Money Isaack Nchunda said that the partnership marks another milestone where motorists can pay parking fees easy and very convenient anytime and anywhere.
“As you are aware, the government introduced parking fees through the online system. This has been easy as the government will now receiving these fees directly to the system. For that reason, today is an important day for us as we launch this new partnership with TARURA and demonstrates our good relationship with the government,” he said.
Most government agencies and institutions have already adapted to the online payment system GePG. This system has many advantages, which include making payment easier, proper record keeping, reduce loss of government revenue, control of corruption and increase of government collections.
For that reason, I take this opportunity to congratulate TARURA for partnering with us for Tanzanians to start using Airtel Money in paying for parking fees. I call for our customers to adapt to the system as it is easy, safe and fast.
“Airtel is owned by the government by 49 per cent. This means that whenever you use any Airtel service then you are contributing to your government. Our mission is to continue offering services that match our daily digital life,” he said.
