Africa-Press – Tanzania. BONGO Flava music legends will be at the Uhuru Stadium to brighten Serengeti Music Festival along the music mega stars today.
Among the notable figures are TID, Ferooz, Wagosi wa Kaya, TMK Wanaume and MB Doggy who will entertain the audience alongside the new music stars such as Aslay, Nandy and Lina Sanga.
The festival is among the major events planned to brighten the Boxing Day.
As confirmed by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Dr Hassan Abbasi, the Uhuru Stadium will see a classy international-level that brings together over 50 music mega stars in one carousel.
He said the government is the festival’s main organiser and he has assured safety to music fans who will perform today.
“This is a festival organised by the government so let me just assure you that the issue of your safety and security has been addressed, and anyone who tries to resort to violence will be dealt accordingly.”
Abbasi further noted the preparations have gone well and went on to tell that the festival is aimed to establish a close relationship between music and tourism sectors.
The festival will honour the contribution of the legendary artistes who initiated the growth of the country’s music industry.
Hence, feature a variety of artists including the new generation as well as veterans, namely the ‘Bongo Flava’ music legends.
Among the new generation musicians to brighten the day include, Nandy, Aslay, Dogo Janja, Major Kunta, Young D, Dullah Makabila, Linah Sanga and Shilole.
Legandary musicians are TID, Ferooz, Wagosi wa Kaya, East Coast Team, Sister P, Wanaume TMK, MB Doggy and many more.
The carousel will not only have a single same flavour, but also the gospel artists will stand in the same stage to give praise and worship to God.
Among the gospel singers who will grace include Christina Shusho and Goodluck Gozbert. All this is at an entrance fee of 5,000 /-.
Furthermore, the Chief Government Spokesperson said the government has put plans to introduce an awarding ceremony next year which will acknowledge artists who have displayed an outstanding record throughout the year.
“The government has heard the cries of many artists about the absence of special awards to honour the artistes. Therefore I declare that we will have the awards in March, 2021.”
The festival will prolong on December 27th as a continuation of the Arts and Culture Festival which will be held at TaSuBA in Bagamoyo. On that day there will be various entertainment including traditional dances.
