Ndugai appeals for ‘equal share’ in recruitment for public offices

Africa-PressTanzania. NATIONAL Assembly Speaker, Job Ndugai has called for transparency and inclusive formula in recruitment for the public offices’ posts that are up for grab.

He said the recruitment must consider a national representation so that those recruited should really show geographical representation in sharing employment opportunities across the country.

Speaker Ndugai also reminded the Parliamentary standing committees to do their role effectively in ensuring that filling in those job vacancies adhere to procedures.

“Some committees are not doing their tasks as required, have you ever done any follow-ups to know whether recruitments have not involved any malpractices, I shouldn’t remind you to fulfill your duties” insisted Mr Ndugai

He said the committee must be keen to ensure that government’s intention to recruit the best with the needed qualifications is attained.

Speaker Ndugai advised that when recruiting it was necessary to consider getting employees from different parts of the country, especially when it happens that many candidates qualify for the jobs.

Mr Ndugai said the committees, if necessary, should question the recruitment committees and they should inform his office so that it could summon in ensuring that all recruitments are done with fair and openness and advise the government accordingly.

Speaker Ndugai also advised the government to think of privatizing the National Ranching Company Limited (NARCO) since it failed to meet the objectives and transform the industry.

He said since its formation way back in the early 1960’s, the NARCO, has been a burden instead of being helpful.
