New faces pop up in CCM’s sweeping changes

Mr Daniel Chongolo has been named new Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Secretary General to fill the gap left by Dr Bashiru Ally.

Prior to the appointment, Chongolo was Kinondoni District Commissioner in Tanzania’s commercial city of Dar es Salaam.

Immediately after convening a special meeting in Dodoma, Friday, a Central Committee and Member of the National Executive Council (NEC) member, Humphrey Polepole issued by statement which said Shaka Hamdu Shaka has been appointed CCM as the party’s Ideology and Publicity Secretary, replacing Mr Humphrey Polepole who has been appointed as MP.

Ruvuma Regional Commissioner, Christina Mndeme has been appointed as Deputy General Secretary –Mainland, replacing Rodrick Mpogolo who will be given other responsibilities. The post of Deputy General Secretary –Zanzibar remains intact.

Mr Polepole added that Economic and Finance Secretary and International Relations Secretary posts held by Frank Hawasi and Ngebela Lubinga respectively remain intact.

Maurdin Kastiko has been named as Secretary for Organisation, replacing Pereira Silima who will be assigned other roles, according to the CCM’s statement.
