Africa-Press – Tanzania. TANZANIA: SMALL and medium enterprises in information and communications technology (ICT) are set to boost their business, thanks to Airtel Tanzania’s initiative to facilitate accessibility of 5G services in the country.

Tanzania has been recognised by the World Bank for its maturity in technology adoption, ranking first in East Africa and second in the entire African continent.

The government in collaboration with mobile network providers has continued to invest in ICT infrastructures, particularly the telecom towers in different parts of the country meant to enhance accessibility of telecommunication services.

Speaking in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday, Airtel Marketing Director, Timea Chogo pointed out the need for adopting new and emerging technologies to stimulate economic and social growth.

“Our aim is not only to provide cutting-edge services but also to empower individuals and businesses to reach full potential in an increasingly digital world,” he said after introducing a new initiative to boost 5G accessibility.

He added, “This gives it a broad appeal from home customers to the growing small and medium enterprises customers as well as self-employed professionals,”
