Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE National Social Security Fund (NSSF) continues to provide social security education to the public, register new members, and encourage existing members to use digital platforms to access services.
NSSF is participating in the National Financial Services Week celebrations taking place at the Usagara Grounds in Tanga City.
The celebrations have been organized by the Government through the Ministry of Finance, which invited sector ministries, including the Prime Minister’s Office for Labour, Employment and Industrial Relations, as well as institutions under the ministry, including NSSF.
Through its participation, NSSF is promoting the use of digital systems that enable members to access various services, including checking contribution statements, generating payment control numbers, paying contributions, and submitting benefit claims online.
In addition, employers and self-employed individuals are being educated on the importance of social security, joining NSSF, and submitting their contributions on time through digital systems to improve efficiency and ensure timely access to both short-term and long-term benefits.
During the National Financial Services Week, many residents of the Tanga Region have joined NSSF through a voluntary scheme known as the Hifadhi Scheme. The scheme has been improved by the government in recognition of the importance of the large self-employed population, providing an opportunity for every Tanzanian to join NSSF and enjoy benefits similar to those available to formally employed workers.
