Africa-Press – Tanzania. Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Dr Leonard Akwilapo has directed the teachers to stick to the rules, procedures and guidelines issued by the state in managing various school operations.
The PS issued the directive amid reports circulating in the various platforms that teachers were not complying with the regulations governing the academic facilities by setting their own school closing and opening schedules.
Dr Akwilapo said the move affects child development.
However, he directed education quality assurance controller, Euphrasia Buchuma to assure the order is implemented including punishment of students.
Officiating a training on School Quality Assurance in Dar es Salaam, Dr Akwilapo said the session aims to build their capacity to understand how best to manage the performance of School or College’s Internal Quality Management Teams to bring positive results in the management and monitoring of teaching and learning.
He further urged the Head teachers and Ward Education Officer will be act as a catalyst for increased productivity and efficiency in the implementation of your work in solving various challenges facing schools.
The training will be conducted for three days and involve Municipal Council level in 11 zones.
