According to the latest Tokyo2020 competitions live update website, by Saturday evening, China had already collected a total of 21 gold medals, 13 silvers and 12 bronzes.
The Asian economic powerhouse is trailing Japan, which has collected 30 medals.
USA has collected 46 medals, 16 more compared to Japan but seats at the third place because of few gold medals compared to the Asians giants.
South Africa, at 25th position, is the only African country which has managed to collect six medals (1 gold, 2 silvers and 3 bronzes) while Uganda from East Africa has recorded four and seating at 55 posion, according the the latest data.
