Africa-PressTanzania. AFTER being knocked out of the 2021 Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations (BSAFCON), the country’s envoys have apologised for the unconvincing results.

From the three matches played in the BSAFCON in Dakar, Senegal, Tanzania lost all their encounters to block their hopes of qualifying to play in the 2021 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup to be staged in Russia.

It all started with a 4-3 loss to Uganda before recording a 3-1 defeat at the hands of the hosts Senegal and another 4-2 nosedive to Egypt in a fifth place play-off match.

Getting a chance to qualify for the World Cup event was the initial target of the country’s representatives but they simply need to reload their guns and make thorough preparations for other upcoming contests. “Our dreams of reaching far in this competition are now over.

The bad results we had against Senegal officially derailed our hopes of stepping in the semifinals and earning a ticket for the World Cup contest.

“Let me seize this opportunity to apologise to all Tanzanians for the poor results we have attained,” said the team’s Head Coach Boniface Pawasa.

According to Pawasa, the next edition of BSAFCON will be held in Mozambique.
