Africa-Press – Tanzania. “TECHNOLOGY for producing new radiopharmaceuticals and neutron-capture therapy methods for diagnosing and treating cancer, heart and lung diseases, a number of childhood illnesses, are key in promoting bilateral cooperation between Tanzanian and Russia organizations,” says Vera Verkhoturova, a representative of the Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) and Deputy Director of International Nuclear Education, Head of International Nuclear Education Programs.
Speaking on May 28 2021 in an online lecture on peaceful use of nuclear energy organized by the support of Tanzania Embassy in Moscow and Rosatom.
Dr Verknoturova highlighted the importance of studying in Russia and appealed to the audience that Russian universities are capable of offering nuclear technology classes for students where they will learn on how nuclear and radiation facilities.
According to data, Russia is the top operation country in research and testing reactors.
Russian Nuclear Education Ambassador and a research scientist, Paul Amoah as well gave a brief insight on why studying nuclear education in Russia is a great choice to build a successful career.

Meanwhile he gave an historical background on the use of nuclear energy, different methods of gas-diffusion selection of isotopes and electromagnetic separation of isotopes and explained how application of modern nuclear technologies can contribute to the development of Africa in agriculture, healthcare products and medical devices.
