Africa-PressTanzania. PRIME Minister Kassim Majaliwa has conveyed the government’s appreciation to the private and religious institutions on their role in ensuring the society gets important spiritual nourishment and social amenities provisions.

The Premier made the remark during the ordination ceremony of the new Catholic Bishop, Simon Chibuga Masondole at Bunda Cathedral in Mara Region, yesterday.

Representing President Samia Suluhu Hassan during the installation, Mr Majaliwa noted that government will continue working with religious institutions and leaders in providing various social services to all Tanzanians without any discrimination.

He further said: “There is a saying that if you want to go fast walk alone, but if you want to go far, walk with your colleagues,” implying that the government will embrace religious and private institutions in governing and running the country.

Equally, Mr Majaliwa urged Tanzanians to use houses of worship to pray for the nation to continue enjoying peace, love and solidarity, which unite us all.

“The peace we have is central in achieving social, political and economic development goals, we must maintain them,” he added.

On his part, Mara Regional Commissioner Ally Hapi said they would continue to provide unconditional support to the ordained bishop, the Catholic Church as well as others religious groups in freely worshiping God without any State harassment.
