Africa-PressTanzania. PRIME Minister Kassim Majaliwa has directed the management of China Railway 15 Bureau Group Corporation to speed up the construction of a 53.2 kilometres road project from Ruangwa to Nanganga in Lindi Region.

The Premier issued the directive when he met with the management of the company yesterday at Namahema Village in Ruangwa District.

The Chinese company is executing the project at the cost of 59.3bn/-. Upon the projects’ completion in November 2022, it is expected to ease movement of people and goods which will in turn boost productivity and people’s incomes.

“The road is very crucial in promoting business, movement of people and goods including farm produce hence boosting productivity for the farmers and propels the country’s economic growth,” said Mr Majaliwa.

On her part, the Country Manager of China Railway 15 Bureau Group Corporation, Ms Su Jinlan assured the Prime Minister that the project will be completed as per the set schedule.

Ms Jinlan observed that the implementation of the project has reached 18 per cent, pledging to bring on board more machines which will accelerate the execution of the project.

“We are confident that the project will be finalised on time as we plan to bring in more equipment at the site,” noted Ms Jinlan.

She commended the support the company has been getting from the residents in that district, enabling them to work without facing any challenges.

In another development, the PM urged the residents of Gogovivu in Ruangwa District to continue supporting the government in implementing various development programmes within the country.

Mr Majaliwa informed the gathering of the government’s initiative to construct and rehabilitate more education infrastructure including the construction of classrooms.

“Through this initiative, it has made it possible for each ward in Ruangwa District to possess their own secondary schools,” Mr Majaliwa affirmed.
