Africa-Press – Tanzania. PRIME Minister Mwigulu Nchemba has urged public servants to increase speed and efficiency in overseeing the implementation of strategic development projects to ensure citizens receive quality services on time.

Speaking in Mwanga District during the inauguration of a new district hospital built at a cost of 2.9 billion Tanzanian shillings, the Prime Minister said the government is committed to continuing improvements in social services and development infrastructure across the country.

He explained that under the leadership of President Samia Suluhu Hassan, the health sector has made significant progress, including the construction of a hospital in every district that previously lacked one. In addition, 649 health centers and 2,800 dispensaries have been built nationwide to bring services closer to the people.

In the education sector, he said the government has constructed 1,300 secondary schools, 2,700 primary schools, and 79,000 classrooms. These efforts have helped reduce student overcrowding and improve learning environments.

For his part, Mwanga Member of Parliament Ngwaru Maghembe said that over the four years of President Samia’s administration, more than 60 billion Tanzanian shillings have been allocated for development projects in the constituency.

He clarified that the health sector received over 8bn/-, while education was allocated 8.6bn/-, in addition to 10bn/- for the construction of three secondary schools and three primary schools.

In the energy sector, he said the government provided 8.7bn/- through the Rural Energy Agency, resulting in all villages in the constituency being connected to electricity.

Furthermore, in this year’s budget, 800m/-has been allocated for the construction of a children’s ward, a men’s ward, and a surgical building—measures expected to further improve healthcare services for residents of Mwanga and surrounding areas.
