Africa-Press – Tanzania. TANZANIA’s Postal Corporation is repositioning to provide online shopping services—an attempt that could create fresh competition to existing key industry players such as Alibaba and Amazon.
Government Chief Spokesperson, Gerson Msigwa said Sunday, authorities in Tanzania have released over 49.5bn/- to support the corporation’s transformation plan.
“We want the Post Office to be operated digitally. The government has made major reforms that will help the corporation to run online stores in which Tanzanians could order and purchase products online just like Alibaba and Amazon,” he said detailing that the corporation will also expand its network of courier services across the globe.
