Africa-Press – Tanzania. The implementation of a special programme, which intends to rebrand Tanzania and its vast opportunities across all sectors, is set to start September, this year.
President Samia Suluhu Hassan revealed this at the State House in Dar es Salaam, Saturday, when she was closing the 12th Tanzania National Business Council (TNBC) meeting and called upon all stakeholders from both public and private sector to support it.
She said Tanzania will become the next country, after Rwanda, to execute the same programme in Africa.
The President told the business community gathered at the State House that stakeholders from the largest media houses in the world were interested in branding her and the country after becomes Tanzania’s first female Head of State.
Her Excellency added she will be part and parcel of the programme since she will tour across the country in an initiative geared to unlock Tanzania’s abundant resources.
“For a long time, we have discussed rebranding Tanzania for the world to understand us, to know where Tanzania is, what do we have, business environment, what raw materials do we have and how much of it,” she said.
She added that: “What they want is to rebrand the female President as well as the country to tell the world there is this person. If we support them, the country will take a step.”
In addition, President Samia asked everyone in his sector to cooperate with the programme’s producers by providing the key information that will market the country.
Though it is an expensive programme, the President said, it will unveil an untold story about Tanzania.
She added that the government will not incur the cost of producing the programme instead stakeholders and Tanzania’s well-wishers will be requested to fund it through their contributions.
