Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE country’s 12th Parliament is expected to be dissolved on June 27, 2025, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Mussa Zungu announced yesterday.
Mr Zungu made an announcement immediately after the adjournment of the 18th Meeting of the 12th Parliament. The Deputy Speaker was informing legislators on the itinerary of the following 19th Parliamentary meeting planned to kick off on April 8, 2025.
The meeting will deliberate on the new estimates of the 2025/2026 government budget.
According to Mr Zungu, the Parliamentary Standing Committees will begin operations on March 10, 2025 during which the government will submit copies of 2025/ 2026 summary budget books and their annexures to the office of the Clerk of the National Assembly.
On March 15, 2027, the Minister of State in the President’s Office (Planning and Investment) Prof Kitila Mkumbo will present proposals for the 2025/26 National Development Plan to legislators while the Finance Minister, Dr Mwigulu Nchemba will present the proposals for the new budget estimates and the budget ceiling.
On April 8, 2025, the 19th Parliamentary meeting will kick off its business, with the new national budget expected to be tabled on June 12, 2025. The meeting will be concluded on June 26, 2025. As usual, the Prime Minister will deliver the speech to adjourn the House
