Africa-Press – Tanzania. FOLLOWING a staggering start in the Premier League campaign, Tanzania Prisons have defended their team saying they will now come stronger.
From five matches played, they are win-less after losing three games and posting two draws no wonder they sit at the base of the table with in the bag.
The strong Tanzania Prisons which used to trouble many opponents last season is nowhere to be seen as questions without answers are being asked to establish what has gone wrong with the team.
In his recent remarks, the club’s Secretary Ally Mrisho said they are now injecting new blood in the team to take over from some players who have been featured for a long time.
“We are slowly creating a new crop of players to get used with the league rhythm so that they can replace those whose legs are slowly failing to keep pace with the competitive league we are having.
“To the side of management, everything is well only that minor problems surfaced which took us where we are now but soon, we are going to get back on the track,” Mrisho said.
He then singled out Benjamin Asukile and Jumanne Alfadhil as some of the long serving players in the team who deserve to be rested as they are no longer at the peak of their profession.
In their next three fixtures, Tanzania Prisons have been lined up to face debutants Mbeya Kwanza at Nelson Mandela Stadium in Sumbawanga in what has been forecasted as a tense game to watch.
Thereafter, they will host Namungo at the same venue before making a long trip to Kilimanjaro to play Polisi Tanzania at Ushirika Stadium in Moshi hence these are the games to help bring Tanzania Prisons back to life.
Last season, Tanzania Prisons finished the campaign on seventh slot with 44 points from 34 played matches of which they won ten encounters.
