Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups, Dr John Jingu, has directed heads of government information and communication units to actively promote achievements recorded under the Generation Equality Programme.

He said the officials should highlight progress made through various projects implemented by their respective ministries and public institutions.

Dr Jingu made the call during a recent capacity-building workshop for heads of government information and communication units held in Dodoma.

He stressed the need for deliberate efforts to increase public awareness and visibility of the programme and its impact across the country.

According to PS, the government has continued to work closely with sectoral ministries, public institutions, as well as regional and local government authorities in implementing the programme, with the aim of ensuring coordinated efforts and effective implementation at all levels.

“During the implementation of this programme, many significant achievements have been realised across the country. You have an opportunity to educate the public, raise awareness and stimulate community participation in efforts to build a gender-equal generation, thereby accelerating the implementation of various national policies, laws and plans, including the National Development Vision 2050 and the CCM Manifesto for 2025– 2030,” said Dr Jingu.

He further encouraged the heads of the units to actively participate in the workshop discussions with openness and cooperation in order to achieve the intended outcomes of further strengthening programme implementation, identifying and discussing emerging challenges and setting sustainable strategies and plans that will effectively enhance economic and social rights equality within communities.

On behalf of the workshop participants, the Head of the Government Information and Communication Unit from the Prime Minister’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (PMORALG), Rhoida Andusamile, thanked the ministry for shading the light on how align project achievements with the implementation of the Generation Equality Programme.

She pledged to continue disseminating positive results through various media outlets, social media platforms and public events they attend.
