Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Kilimanjaro Regional Consultative Committee (RCC) has congratulated President Samia Suluhu Hassan for her intention to reconstitute the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children by forming a full-fledged ministry which will deal with gender and social welfare.
According to the meeting, President Samia’s decision will increase efficiency in gender and other community issues. The Kilimanjaro RCC showered the praises to President Samia over the weekend at a committee meeting that was held in Moshi, Kilimanjaro region.
The compliments were part of the resolutions which were reached by the region’s highlevel meeting. The Kilimanjaro Regional Administrative Secretary (RAS) Dr Seif Shekalaghe said he will compile all the resolutions reached and hand over the document to the Regional Commissioner who will then submit it to the President.
Special Seats MP Ether Maleko, who supported the motion to congratulate President Samia, said the decision deserves compliments as it will give room for gender and other community issues to be dealt with effectively.
She said President Samia, right from day she assumed presidential roles, she has indeed shown her determination to serve the nation diligently. “The President made a wise decision that will indeed improve the way issues concerning gender and social welfare are dealt compared to the past, “she said.
“The RCC is the highest organ in our region administratively, may I take this opportunity to urge this committee congratulate the President for her wise decision”, she urged. Supporting the motion, the Chairman of the session who is also the Kilimanjaro Regional Commissioner (RC) Mr Stephen Kagaigai said the resolution was important, considering the tremendous work that the sixth phase government led by President Samia has done in the country including in Kilimanjaro region.
