Africa-PressTanzania. The Arusha Resident Magistrate’s Court has postponed the insuance of verdict regarding a lawsuit against former Hai District Commissioner and co- accused to October 15, this year.

Sabaya and co-accused: Daniel Mbura and Sylivester Nyengu were arraigned on the 4th of June, this year facing charges of misuse of public office and armed robbery.

The former Hai Disctrict Commissioner was arraigned after being detained for couples of days by authorities since his arrest in Dar es Salaam by the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB).

OCTOBER 1, 2021 It’s Judgement day for Sabaya

FORMER Hai District Commissioner, Lengai Ole Sabaya and his co-accused are set to learn their fates on today (October 1, 2021), when the Arusha Resident Magistrate’s Court delivers judgment in the armed robbery trial they are facing.

After going through the evidence tendered by both the prosecution and defence sides, Senior Resident Magistrate Odira Amworo promised that he will be in the position to deliver judgement today [Firday].

In the case, the prosecution, led by Principal State Attorney Tumani Kweka has called 11 witnesses in an attempt to prove the charges against the accused persons.

ON May 13, 2021 President Samia Suluhu Hassan decided to suspend the Hai District Commissioner in Kilimanjaro region, Lengai Ole Sabaya with immediate pending investigations over numerous claims levelled against him.

JUNE 4, 2021 Sabaya arraigned

THE Former Hai District Commissioner, Lengai ole Sabaya and his fellows were arraigned at the Arusha Resident Magistrate Court Friday facing multiple charges including, but not limited to misuse of public office and armed robbery.

AUGUST 23, 2021 Sabaya’s co-accused faults charge sheet

THE third accused person in former Hai District Commissioner Lengai Ole Sabaya’s armed robbery case was forced to produce his academic transcripts as a testimony of his proper names.

Daniel Mbura availed his academic papers before Arusha Resident Magistrate’s Court after he initially faulted the charge sheet over his proper identification.

Adducing his defence in the criminal case number 105, 2021, Mbura alleged that the prosecution erred in his proper names, compelling him to produce the academic transcripts.

The accused identified himself as Daniel Laurent Mbura, yet the charge sheet identified him as Daniel Gabriel Mbura.
