Africa-PressTanzania. NATIONAL team, Taifa Stars skipper Mbwana Samatta said plans are underway to take their annual Sama-Kiba sports bonanza to all regions of the country, to give fans a rare experience.

This year’s Sama-Kiba bonanza was held on Friday at Samora Stadium in Iringa where after the 90 minutes of play, the two teams produced a 1-1 results.

It was the first time for the event to be played outside Dar es Salaam and this time around, people from Iringa had an opportunity to watch the two sides battling on the pitch.

“Our target is to reach many regions and if possible, all regions of the country. We came here because our main sponsor is based here in Iringa and thereafter, we will begin to reach other regions.

“This event happens once in a year as such, it is something which cannot affect one’s plans that is why we are committed to continue doing it for many years to come,” Samatta said.

He added that with full support they get from Tanzanians, it drives them to keep doing the event in order to stay connected with many people countrywide.

According to him, one of the big challenges they faced in this year’s event was lack of key players they usually have in their squads.

“As you know, the Mainland Premier League is still going on and we missed several players since many of them are in their respective teams,” he said.

Apart from attracting usual football players, the event also brings together famous names in music and film industry who share good time on the same venue.

ASAS Dairies are the main sponsors of the Sama-Kiba sports bonanza.
