Security firm workers rally behind Covid-19 vaccination campaign

Africa-Press – Tanzania. WORKERS of the SGA security company in Morogoro region have rallied behind an ongoing Covid-19 vaccination campaign by turning up to receive the jabs recently.

The employees said they decided to go for vaccination in order to protect themselves, their clients and families against coronavirus.

Their decisions came as a result of the company’s management commitment towards encouraging and educating its workers and their families to immunise themselves against the coronavirus with the vaccine.

The company’s nurse, Jesca Pande, said they encouraged the company’s staff to come forward and get vaccinated for their own protection, their families and the clients they serve.

Ms Pande said in supporting the government’s efforts, last weekend the company launched a campaign to educate and encourage security guards, other employees and their families to undergo vaccinated.

During the campaign a total of 1,100 workers received the vaccines.

She said since the start of the exercise of educating the employees on the importance of vaccination, doses have been supplied to the firm’s regional offices in Tanga, Dodoma, Mwanza, Geita, Dar es Salaam, Arusha, Kilimanjaro, Mbeya, Songwe (Tunduma) and Morogoro for its workers and family members.

“The aim is to reach out to all employees of our company throughout the country and protect them and their families as well as customers from the virus,” Ms Pande said.

“We support the government’s decision to reach out to many citizens in this vaccination campaign and we advise people to get vaccinated as it is safe for them,” stressed the company’s CEO.

Some of the company’s employees in Morogoro region who were vaccinated during the exercise praised their company for the initiative.

One of employees, Mr Juma Omary, said: “Everyone should come forward to get vaccinated, I have been vaccinated to protect myself and my family.”
