Africa-Press – Tanzania. A team of observers from the Southern African Development Community(SADC) has assured the Zanzibar President, Dr Hussein Ally Mwinyi, that it will effectively execute its election-observing mission.
President, Dr Hussein Ali Mwinyi, was assured today during his meeting with a delegation from the SADC Electoral Observation Mission (SEOM) at the State House in Zanzibar.
The delegation, led by the former Speaker of the Malawi Parliament, Richard Msowoya, informed Dr. Mwinyi that SEOM is prepared to deploy its observers to all areas of Zanzibar.
While in Zanzibar, the SEOM delegation also met with the Zanzibar Electoral Commission (ZEC), as well as CHAUMA and the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM).
Zanzibar is expected to hold its General Election on Wednesday, October 29, this year.
