Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE ruling party CCM’s Ideology and Publicity Secretary, Mr Shaka Hamdu Shaka, has called on government and party leaders to play a major role in assisting President Samia Suluhu Hassan as she strives to build a prosperous Tanzania.
Mr Shaka, a new secretary for the ruling party, made the remarks yesterday in Dar es Salaam when officially receiving the office from his predecessor, Mr Humphrey Polepole.
The handing over ceremony took place at CCM’s Lumumba sub-head office, in the city.
“I urge all leaders in the government and the party to understand that they have a big responsibility to support the President and our party chairperson.
Tanzanians are our main stakeholders, regardless of their party, religion or ethnicity.” He thanked President Samia for appointing and trusting him for the key position.
Mr Shaka also thanked Mr Polepole for taking his time to hand over the office to him and promised to continue working with his predecessor all the time.
Mr Polepole said; “In our party we have a tradition of transferring leadership. Today, I hand over the baton to my brother Shaka and he will proceed with the duties.”
