Africa-Press – Tanzania. REIGNING champions Simba seek to reward supporters a Christmas gift when they take on KMC in their NBC Premier League match at Ali Hassan Mwinyi Stadium in Tabora today.
It will be a battle between the second- placed Simba against 10th-placed KMC with each searching to get the essential win that will serve as Christmas and Boxing Day rewards to their supporters.
Besides fighting for the crucial three points, the game will also help to give Tabora residents a glimpse of what they are missing for not having a premier league team.
As such; they need to applaud KMC for their good gesture to take the game to Tabora from Uhuru Stadium where it was initially scheduled to unfold before the new venue was selected.
This trend deserves to be promoted at all cost because it helps to transfer the beautiful game of football to areas which do not regularly experience big matches involving reputable clubs of Simba caliber.
The last big game to unfold at Ali Hassan Mwinyi Stadium was held last season in the semifinals of Azam Sports Federation Cup (ASFC) between Young Africans versus Biashara United which the former won 1-0.
Now, for Simba, they are much aware that a triumph in today’s duel will be best for them in order to bridge points’ gap with the league leaders Yanga who have carved 23 points.
A victory will see the Msimbazi Street Reds reach 21 points from nine games, trimming the points gap with Yanga to two points as such; their primary goal is nothing less than the whole three points.
Their Spanish coach Pablo Franco is also going to be eager to maintain his status of not losing a league game from the time he seized the navigation seat at the club from Didier Gomes.
However, he has unpredictable 90 minutes of play to uphold the undefeated status which will be meaningful if they win and not recording a draw. On the other side, KMC have lately improved a lot after beginning the campaign in a staggering motion which saw them dropping important points in their early fixtures.
Their recent league match was a barren draw against Mtibwa Sugar as such; they too have their eyes glued at the available three points on standby waiting to be grabbed after the normal period of play.
Another hot game will be at Mkwakwani Stadium in Tanga where Coastal Union will try to spoil Mbeya City’s unbeaten run of the season today.
The two sides are separated by one point as Mbeya City have 15 points while Coastal Union have 14 points, hence it will be more like a final encounter.
