Africa-Press – Tanzania. SIMBA SC Board Chairman, Crescentius Magori, has expressed strong dissatisfaction with the Tanzania Football Federation’s (TFF) decision to dismiss the club’s complaint over midfielder Mohamed Damaro’s eligibility, describing the ruling as unfair and potentially damaging to the integrity of the league.
The TFF’s Legal and Players’ Status Committee concluded that Damaro was lawfully registered and eligible to play, rejecting Simba SC’s appeal. Despite this, Magori warned the club could escalate the matter to CAS and FIFA.
“The Premier League must operate on a level playing field,” Magori said. “If a player is granted nationality just to play for a club and not for the national team, that is unacceptable. Damaro, even after 100 years, cannot represent the national team.”
He also claimed that the situation exposed a loophole allowing some clubs to register more foreign players than the rules permit, calling it “serious deception” and highlighting the unfair advantage it created.
“Simba SC will write to the relevant authorities, including FIFA, seeking clarity,” he added. “We are taking this very seriously and will continue to pursue the matter through proper channels.”
Magori addressed speculation over midfielder Elie Mpanzu, who last month renewed his contract with the club. He said prior his extension rumours said that the player refused to sign a new deal. He noted it is “bizarre”, and the player missing recent matches is due to injury but had resumed training. His participation in upcoming games remains uncertain.
Regarding midfielder Inno Loemba, Magori clarified that he was registered through the club’s registration committee, not sponsor JayRutty and that his absence from a recent match was a tactical decision by the coach rather than a contractual issue.
Simba SC will celebrate its 90th anniversary this year. Migori emphasised the club’s focus on preparing for the transfer window, strengthening the squad and maintaining strong performance on the field. “Simba is not a club of words; if you want football, come to Simba,” he said.
Finally, Magori confirmed that new modern membership cards will be distributed soon. He said previous delays were caused by technical issues with the registration system, but insisted the rollout will mark a significant step fo
