Africa-Press – Tanzania. SINO American Global Fund (SinoAm LLC) has expressed its intention to invest in Tanzania up to 5bn US dollars in large-scale strategic projects, including infrastructure, transportation, energy, technology, financial services, and industrial development.
The investment interest was formally presented during a meeting between the leadership of SinoAm LLC and the Minister of State in the President’s Office for Planning and Investment, Professor Kitila Mkumbo in a meeting that took place in London, United Kingdom on the sidelines of the Minister’s official visit to the country.
Speaking on behalf of SinoAm LLC, the Fund’s Chairman, Najib Choufani, said the fund plans to invest the amount in phases through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects, in line with the development priorities of Tanzania’s Sixth Phase Government.
Choufani explained that SinoAm LLC has conducted a comprehensive assessment of Tanzania’s investment climate and identified high-impact opportunities. These include the construction and operation of modern toll expressways, standard gauge railway (SGR) projects, as well as key transport and energy infrastructure aimed at driving economic growth and strengthening Tanzania’s regional competitiveness.
The meeting was also attended by Tarek Choufani, Chief Executive Officer of SinoAm LLC, who noted that the fund has extensive global experience in managing and financing large-scale infrastructure projects. He emphasized that SinoAm is ready to bring not only substantial capital, but also technical expertise, modern management systems, and international best practices to Tanzania.
For his part, Minister Professor Kitila Mkumbo commended SinoAm LLC for demonstrating strong commitment to investing significant capital in Tanzania. He stressed that the Tanzanian government continues to improve the business and investment environment to attract major global investors, highlighting Tanzania’s political stability, investor-friendly policies, and long-term development vision that provides assurance and protection for strategic investments.
