Africa-Press – Tanzania. The newly appointed Member of Parliament, Dr Stargomena Tax has been sworn-in by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Job Ndugai in Dodoma today (Friday).
It was announced on Friday morning that President Samia Suluhu Hassan had appointed the the former Southern African Development Community (SADC) Executive Secretary as a Member of Parliament.
According to the Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania, the President is entitled to appoint 10 MPs of which five of them must be female.
Dr Tax retired at SADC August, this year.
