Africa-PressTanzania. SIMBA Sports Club and Africarriers Limited have entered into a sponsorship agreement worth 800m/- at Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dar es Salaam.

This was revealed yesterday in a press conference by the club’s CEO Barbara Gonzalez who said the deal will last four years.

Barbara said through the signed deal, the club will benefit from a Golden Dragon bus capable of carrying 60 passengers, an Eicher bus that can carry 45 passengers, and a Coaster minibus.

“We have received these buses where the big bus will be for the senior squad, the 45-person bus will be for Simba Queens, and the youth squad will use Coaster,” said Barbara.

For the part of Africarriers, the firm’s Legal Department Head, Ngassa Mboje said the deal signed also includes the sponsorship deal of Simba youth team’s kit.

“It is an honour working with the champions and historical club in Tanzania. We believe both sides will benefit from this relationship,” said Mboje.

This becomes the third deal for Simba to sign in just a month as they have already entered into agreements with Air Tanzania and Emirates.

The relationship between Simba and Africarriers Car Company has extended for a while. In May this year, they handed a new Coaster bus to Simba Queens that has been used for the ladies squad’s trips during the Tanzania Mainland Women league.

The hand-over ceremony was held at the Africarriers offices in Vingunguti, Dar es Salaam and the bus was donated by the company as part of the sponsorship for the club.

“This is a good start to the partnership between Simba Queens and us and the caretaker of Simba Fatema Dewji as part of our efforts to support and empower women,” said Ngassa.

After being handed the bus for Simba Queens, the team’s patron, Fatema Dewji, thanked Africarriers Limited for sponsoring their team and providing them with a Coaster bus.

“Although the sponsorship has come to an end of the season, I am confident it will be the catalyst for our championship and continue until next season as a contribution like this is the catalyst for women’s football in the country,” said Fatema.

The Director of Africarrier Ltd, Mohamed Raza Pirbhal, said they had provided this bus to support the ladies in the league games.
