Africa-Press – Tanzania. Stanbic Bank Tanzania has officially launched the eMkopo service, a digital loan specifically designed for public servants, through an official collaboration with the Government’s Watumishi Portal system (https://ess.utumishi.go.tz).
The service will enable public servants in the country to apply for and receive loans of up to 200m/-, with a repayment period of up to 108 months (equivalent to 9 years), through a simple and digital process without the need to visit bank branches.
Speaking at the launch on Wednesday, Emmanuel Mahondanga, Head of Personal Banking at Stanbic Bank said the launch of eMkopo marks a significant step in providing financial services that align with today’s needs.
“By integrating with the government’s Watumishi Portal, we simplify the entire loan access process for public servants – in a fast, secure, and user-friendly manner. This is part of our commitment to enhancing financial inclusion and promoting the well-being of our customers.” He noted.
On her part, Priscus Kavishe, Senior Manager of Sales and Customer Acquisition said that the eMkopo is the result of collaboration between the public and private sectors, aimed at efficiently serving public servants.
Additionally, Kavishe noted that through the Watumishi Portal, which is the official government platform clients can apply for a loan of up to 200m/- digitally, and repay it gradually over a period of up to 9 years.
“We ensure that this service is easily accessible and comes with favorable terms.”
