Africa-Press – Tanzania. A LOCAL logistics company, TAHA Fresh handling Ltd, has won a prestigious East Africa Maritime Award (EAMA) as the best firm in facilitating horticultural exports in Tanzania.
TAHA Fresh Ltd, which is a subsidiary of TAHA Group, has been recognized as the best Clearing and Forwarding Agent in Tanzania, at the second annual EAMA, held in Mombasa, Kenya last Friday, thanks for its persistent innovation and competitive services provision that led to horticulture industry growth in the country.
Recognising and celebrating various companies across the region, EAMA is jointly organised by the Shippers Council of Eastern Africa (SCEA), East African Business Council (EABC), Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA), Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and Kenya Trade Network Agency (KenTrade).
The EAMA seeks to foster excellence in service delivery and adoption of best practices; appreciate the exceptional contribution to the industry and regional economies; encourage innovation and healthy competition among regional industry players, and improve the overall performance of the sector.
The TAHA Fresh Ltd bagged the award amidst the stiff competition brought by the companies from across the breadth of the maritime sector, comprising the shipping, ports, services, engineering, and leisure marine industries with operations in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
TAHA Group CEO, Dr. Jacqueline Mkindi said it’s encouraging to see Taha Fresh Ltd making its mark not only in Tanzania but the entire EAC freight forwarding industry.
